MANAGEMENT:

Curtis M. Coward, President

Prior to assuming his present position, Mr. Coward was a Partner in McGuire, Woods, Battle  Boothe, L.L.P. and President and Chief Executive Officer of McGuire, Woods, Battle & Boothe International LLC. In that capacity Mr. Coward managed the firm's international legal practice, including its extensive practice in Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, and had administrative responsibility for the firm operations in Brussels, Moscow and Almaty, Kazakhstan. Beginning in 1993, he and his firm regularly served as counsel to various ministries of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan with respect to international transactions and arbitrations and as special counsel to several Working Groups appointed by the Government to negotiate exploration and development transactions with a number of foreign companies in the natural resource sector representing potential investments in excess of US $10 billion. During this period, Mr. Coward and McGuire Woods also represented a number of multi-national corporations and state owned enterprises in Kazakhstan. In addition, Mr. Coward has served as a consultant to the Government of the Russian Federation on transportation issues and assisted a major American power company in its $460 Million joint venture project with the National Electric Company of Bulgaria. He has been a featured speaker at several international conferences on business development in the Former Soviet Union, including meetings in London, Houston, San Diego, Bologna, Moscow and Almaty.

Mr. Coward is a graduate of Denison University and the College of William and Mary Law School and is a licensed attorney. He is a Director and member of the Executive Committee of the Atlantic Council of the United States, where he has served as chair of a special task force on Central Asia. He is also a Trustee of the U.S. Naval Academy Foundation and the William and Mary Law School Foundation.
