REPRESENTATIVE TRANSACTIONS:

USA  >>  ROUTE 28 IMPROVEMENTS

The Route 28 corridor is home to many rapidly developing businesses as part of the high technology corridor in Northern Virginia. Route 28 runs in a north-south direction in eastern Loudoun County and Fairfax County. In Loudoun County, Route 28 represents the engine behind the county's rapid growth. Much of the Loudoun County's planned commercial growth is occurring along the Route 28 corridor. Fairfax County has identified Route 28 as its next business center in the prosperous county. The area surrounding Route 28 emerges as one of the few remaining areas in the county where significant commercial development potential exists.

In the past few years, traffic has approached unacceptable levels in the area. The proposed improvement project for Route 28 between I-66 in Fairfax County and Route 7 in Loudoun County includes a series of grade separated interchanges at ten locations, as well as widening the roadway. Once implemented, the Route 28 Corridor Improvement Program will provide the public with improved access to commercial, retail, employment and residential areas, decreased traffic times, improved emergency response times and improved air quality. Drivers will enjoy a transportation network with enhanced traffic flow, increased traffic and throughput and improved traffic safety. Additional benefits include increased employment opportunities, contracting opportunities and revenue for local businesses, and an opportunity for local consultants, contractors and the workforce to participate in this project.

Trident Investment Group and its President, Curtis M. Coward, Esq. have been retained to represent Shirley Contracting with regard to legal matters. Mr. Coward was the principal author of the original Transportation Improvement District legislation and represented the petitioning landowners during the formation of the Route 28 Tax District in 1987.
